Milka and I are grateful and joy-filled to share that in the middle of February we made pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Milka’s daughter Karlene even traveled from her university in S. Korea to meet us there as well. We joined Bishop Suda and a group from the UMC New England Conference to taste and see the very places that Jesus and his disciples walked, and what an invitation! Each stop on our journey: Bethlehem, the River Jordan, the Dead Sea, the Sea of Galilee, Jerusalem and so many others opened the Bible stories before our eyes. The Holy Land itself is known as the “Fifth Gospel.” What a gift from God to experience it in person! We were so blessed to have had this experience, and we all came home healthy.

 

Karlene and Carlos’ classes were cancelled, and the four of us are now home together due to the pandemic. Coronavirus was in the news in mid-February, but we never imagined then what it has become now: a global health crisis. This virus has changed all our plans but not our faith in Jesus.

Our prayers go out on behalf of healthcare providers especially, and to the sick, their families and friends. Just as all the powers of death and hell could not prevail over Christ Jesus, and the nations pour into the Holy Land in gratitude for their salvation through him, our prayer in these dark days is for the glory of God to be made known throughout the earth!
